Awww. Right in the feels.

Political rivals, but personal besties, Christopher Pyne and Anthony Albanese have today embarked on the trip of a lifetime.

The Great Ocean Road.

After decades of lapsed plans for a roadtrip, the Minister For Defence and the Shadow Minister For Transport finally got their shit together and took off in a 1966 Ford Thunderbird that they borrowed from former Automotives Enthusiast Senator, Ricky Muir.

“Woohooo” shouted Albo, as the car pulled out of the ACT this morning.

Pyne, who was also visibly ecstatic to put politics behind and just hangout as mates, was overhead telling Albanese just how much this friendship meant to him.

“You said that you and me were gonna get out of town and for once just really let our hair down. Well darlin’, look out ’cause my hair is comin’ down!” he yelled to his passenger.

This comes after both politicians attracted the attention and disgust of imminent Coalition leader Peter Dutton, for getting too close in their public appearances and recurring panel spots on breakfast television.

Back in Canberra, it is believed in a quest for a liberal spill, Peter Dutton MP has been inconvenienced by the small L liberal behaviour of Pyne.

“I don’t know what to do with Pyne” Dutton told his closest confidante, Tony Abbott.

“When the red mist settles, after the night of the long knives, I think I’ll send Christopher on another road trip. One that he might not come back from”

It is believed that Albo has told Pyne that he has a couple of hardheaded Former Newtown Jets players that he can send to Dutton’s house at the drop of a hat, if he needs.

Next stop is the twelve apostles.
