Local gay man, Matthew Longhurst (28) is not an African-American female, but judging by the terminology used in his rampant social media activities, he could easily be confused with a Louisiana-based RnB singer.

His most recent upload, which includes a photo of him drinking scotch at a work function, includes the caption “What’s worse, lookin’ jealous or crazy, jealous or crazy / Or like being walked all over lately, walked all over lately / I’d rather be crazy.””

Throughout the average week of posting overly complimentary comments on photos of female friends – and passive aggressive banter on photos of males friends – Matthew would easily be able to rattle out a string of lyrics from every single song in Beyonce’s entire discography.

Matthew says using the term “Yaasss Queen” has essentially become a way of greeting someone, within his social circle, but also a way of saying ‘you look good in this picture’.

When asked if he can relate to the subtext behind both Rihanna and Beyonce’s music, which relates to breaking free from the oppression faced by African-American women both inside and outside their own communities, Matthew responds by saying “Who run the world?”

He then told our female reporter to ‘werk, werk, werk, werk, werk’.
