As was reported today Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been unavailable for comments regarding the developing COVID-19 outbreak in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
This was, of course, only reported by The Betoota Advocate and several other independent news publishers who aren’t owned and operated by aristocratic Sydney baby boomers whose interests are served by the Liberal Party.
So far, the fact that Morrison has disappeared from public view on the anniversary of his fateful Hawaii getaway during the 2019 bushfires, has not yet made headlines in Peter Costello’s Fairfax newspapers or Murdoch’s NewsCorp tabloids.
After a year spent taking the credit for the hard work of Gladys Berejiklian, Dan Andrews, Mark McGowan and Annastacia Palaszczuk – the pre-Christmas outbreak in his home city must look a lot like too much work.
It is not yet known which resort town he has run away to with the family during this crisis, but the journalists who are willing to ask have been advised by his frustrated colleagues to check out the sun chairs at Noosa or Hamilton Island.
