The vastness and population of Australia seems to have yet filtered into the minds of our friends across the pond in America. While there are rumours that Americans aren’t interested in any country but their own, Eva Sprawley (25) had an interaction today that might just prove it.

Eva, who is road tripping across the United States, told our reporters how a seemingly stupid question both frustrated her and yet was the catalyst for what was the best night of her life.

“So I was sitting at the bar and a bloke asked where I was from, yada yada yada. Then he was like ‘oh you’re from Australia, do you know Ben from Betoota?’”

“At first, I was like, is this guy for real? Betoota is the largest inland city in Queensland, of course I’m not going to know Ben!”

“But we kept talking and it turns out, I actually did know Ben! We went to Betoota High together! What a small world.”

This connection was good enough for Eva to conclude that this bloke wasn’t a serial killer, and reports are that the two were inseparable for the remainder of the night.

The Advocate is yet to confirm what exactly made this the best night of Eva’s life, but from what our reporters have told us, we think we have a pretty good idea.

More to come.
