Taking time out of his hectic European and Middle Eastern tour, President Donald Trump stood in awe of the Vatican City’s vast stone walls that were built in the 800s to protect the Pope from barbarian invasions.

“This is what I was talking about during the election,” he said.

“These were the walls I had in my dreams. To protect the American people against the modern barbarian – the Hispanic cartel member, the undocumented worker. Barbarians on the American economy. This is what I wanted.”

Earlier this week, Trump visited other walls in the region.

“I didn’t think much of The Western Wall, it’s very brittle and old. Whoever built it made a bad deal. Poor workmanship,” he said of one of Israel and Palestine’s most sacred sites.

Over the weekend, the President is due to visit Berlin, home to perhaps the most famous wall of our time.

Mr Trump revealed his excitement but stopped short of condoning the Berlin Wall itself.

“Like The Eagles, they were good while it lasted. Then they tried to come back and they SUCKED,” said Trump.

“Sad! Great wall in its day, but.”

More to come.
