A card-carrying member of the National Rifle Association has today refused to acknowledge that the horrific mass-shooting in Las Vegas overnight might have been prevented with even the slightest form of gun control legislation.

Joe Siggspack (66) has instead has implored his fellow law-abiding American gun-owners to make sure they too are armed next time someone starts indiscriminately firing a military-grade machine gun into a crowd of 30,000 people from over 300 metres away.

“This is why we need better conceal-carry laws” he says.

“If I could discreetly carry my piece on me, I’d be hiding in plain sight next time someone decides to shoot at a crowd of people that look like ants from the top of a luxury hotel”

“This is why we have the 2nd-amendment! To protect ourselves from someone, somewhere with a projectile firearm capable of bringing down aeroplanes”

This man’s proud and macho announcement comes as a lonely white man armed with 17 guns on a high floor of a Las Vegas hotel rained a barrage of bullets on an outdoor country music festival on Sunday, slaughtering at least 59 people in the largest mass shooting in modern US history.

Nevada retiree Stephen Paddock, 64, killed himself as police stormed his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, from where he opened fire on the festival attended by 22,000, sending thousands of terrified survivors fleeing.

President Trump has announced the immediate deployment of his thoughts and prayers to the region.
