History buffs and daytime television enthusiasts around the world are rejoicing this afternoon as an option to remake M*A*S*H was picked up by a major broadcast network.

As the hotly anticipated war between the United States and North Korea hurtles towards reality, content creators and production houses vied for the contract – but who won the bidding war remains a mystery.

Slated to be set on the outskirts of a post-nuclear Seoul, the series is rumoured to be based around the remnants of a medevac surgical unit as they fight everything from themselves to radioactive Korean zombies.

Local television writer, Peter Glee, said that it’s this type of scintillating television that viewers have been holding out for.

“I, for one, will be looking forward to those days when I’m home sick from work or something and the new M*A*S*H comes on after the morning news shows or something,” he said.

“What a lot of people don’t realise that the original series is set during the first Korean War. So as we’re about to go to war in Korea again, it seems logical that the series be remade,”

“Not much else is known right now, new details are coming through each day. I wonder if Radar will have the use of both hands in this series? Only time will tell!”

More to come.
