Joe Biden has been sworn in as the 46th President of the United States today, after four years of chaos that came with the unexpected Republican outsider that was Donald Trump.
Biden has since addressed America for the first time as President, vowing to end the “uncivil war” in a deeply divided country reeling from racial tensions and and a faltering economy.
The Trump presidency ended with a turbulent 2020, and 400,000 dead Americans whose lungs stopped working because they had not received the stimulus packages and health advice needed to survive the pandemic.
However, the Twitter dictatorship is now over.
No longer will the American people have to worry about their mood swings and personal grievances of the most powerful man in the world.
The anxiety of the last four years will all be a distant memory by spring break, as America looks forward to a President who spends more time behind the scenes, signing off on Federal laws and foreign policy.
After an initially tight November election, Biden eventually tore ahead by six and half million votes – a population almost bigger than evert Australia state or territory.
Today, America’s silent majority celebrates.
The librarians, the farmers, the teamsters, the school teachers, the mothers, fathers and the veterans. The real Americans, detached from the Murdoch media class – with real hopes and dreams for their country.
Today, they celebrate a return to zero transparency in the White House, more decade long wars in middle eastern countries they’ve never heard of, more red-tape for health insurance.
But most of all today they celebrate a return to a society that bails out white collar criminals who cause global financial collapses through greed and entitlement.
This is the America that Trump tried to take from them. This is the land of the free.
O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
