The Federal Government is looking to improve it’s public image this week after months and months, perhaps even years, of sustained incompetence and scandal.

It is the same government that has recently begun a campaign to deport disabled children that were born here.

A child born in Australia inherits the visa status of their parents. They can satisfy every other bit of criteria but can be denied residence for the sole reason of their child having a disability.

“It’s simply a matter of money,” said a Home Affairs spokesperson to The Advocate this morning.

“Are you happy to pay for the medical costs associated with having a disability? Why should the Australian taxpayer be burdened with the cost of some foreigner’s medical expenses?”

“Just because you’re born here, doesn’t mean your one of us. Especially if you don’t look like an Australian.”

Closer to town, our reporter canvassed a few of the old red-nosed sirloin-eating cunts down at Royal Betoota Country Club to see what our town’s most conservative thought.

While some said something unfit to print or broadcast, a few though deporting children with a disability who were born here is a bit rich.

“Yeah, it’s not good,” said one of them.

“They probably paid more tax than I did last year. Not because of anything illegal, it’s just how the system works, I guess. But I pay tax on everything I buy via the GST so I don’t know what you’re complaining about,”

“What can you do?”

More to come.
