It’s day three, arguably day four of Splendour In The Grass 2018, and by all accounts it has been a spectacular weekend for both guests and artists thus far.
From Lorde to Vampire Weekend, to Gang of Youths, Methyl Ethel, Stella Donnelly, Miguel, Khalid, CHVRCHES, Girl Talk and the never-not-touring festival staple, The Wombats – there’s something for everyone heading into the hip hop-heavy last hurrah ofKendrick Lamar.
However, one prominent subculture of Australian festivalgoers that was completely unaccounted for during the initial planning progress was the nation’s train drivers.
“We have no idea what is going on” said Splendour In The Grass organiser, Kasey Fanning.
“There’s gotta be like 20,000 train drivers here”
Aside from the bizarre jump in train drivers at this year’s festival, another revelation that has shocked everyone from David Le’aupepe to Lil Xan is the fact that majority of the nation’s train drivers are in their late teens and females.
“I don’t get it” said Lil Xan.
“Why would they wear their work clothes to a three day music festival?”
“It’s really weird. But then again, I’m a teenage Mexican-American soundcloud rapper named after a controversial subscription medication, so I really can’t say much”
