Prime Minister Scott Morrison has touched down in Australian after cutting short his Hawaiian holiday by 45 minutes today, and is expected to meet with fire chiefs tomorrow morning
The Prime Minister’s return followed days of criticism over his decision to take a family holiday during the bushfire crisis, as hysterical nation comes to terms with the fact they have just voted in someone who runs with the going gets tough.
The period of leave was not formally announced and the Prime Minister’s Office had told journalists he was not in Hawaii, which means several public servants on $200k tay-payer salaries were lying to the media to protect Scotty From Marketing.
Mr Morrison announced on Friday morning he would cut short the family vacation, after the deaths of two firefighters in New South Wales, which also coincidentally was the same time that a photo was leaked of him drinking beer on the beach in Hawaii.
Mr Morrison returned with multiple fires burning at emergency level across NSW and major fires also burning in Victoria and South Australia.
However, Morrison has not returned back to the Shire, as was imagined, or Canberra, likely because of the thick smoke clouds above both cities make it near impossible to land.
Instead, he’s decided to rack up a few bloke points and flown into Adelaide, where the levels of bushfire smoke are still bad enough to cause delays to a televised cricket match, but not bad enough to land a plane.
Within half an hour of landing in Australia, The Prime Minister was already caught on film running water for the Adelaide Strikers V Sydney Thunder BBL fixture. Before the match was inevitably canned due to the smoke.
“The moment I heard these boys looked like they were going to be prevented from having a go, I thought the least I can do is get out there and hand out plastic water bottles, and maybe a few dust masks” Scotty From Marketing told 2GB, the only media network he corresponds with, tonight.
“As someone who claims to represent the working class, of course I’m a Western Sydney Thunder supporter!”
