Furious Brisbane Broncos supporters are bombarding the club’s with angry emails and phone calls this week, as the NRL begins to map out just what led to their history-making 58-0 loss at the hands of Parramatta on Sunday.
At least six players were spotted in the VIP lounge of popular Sydney pub, Harpoon Harrys, the night before their humiliating defeat at the hands of the in form Eels.
Eyewitnesses confirmed Broncos players Matt Gillett, Andrew McCullough, Payne Haas, David Fifita, Corey Oates and Anthony Milford were all at Harpoon Harry’s hotel near Sydney’s Oxford Street until late on Saturday night.
The club has acknowledged that this isn’t good enough, especially considering those are pretty much the only household names in the side and not a conspicuous group of blokes.
The players congregated in the pub’s pokies room, where Fifita stayed playing the machines alone, after the rest of his teammates left the venue around 11pm.
However, with all said and done and the players and trainers now looking towards 2020, fans want answers.
“Did they at least get the pop corn?” asks one die-hard Broncos fans Ed ‘Red’ Hill, in the comments of the club’s most recent Facebook post
“What were they playing?” asked another fan, Wally Langer.
“Milford loves More Chillis I seen him playin that at the Normanby”
Other fans have rushed to support the players, with many questioning what the fuck else there is to do in Sydney.
“Good on em” wrote one supporter, Annastacia Bligh.
“They need all the practice they can get trying to win unwinnable games in Sydney”
