A local man has issued a pretty well surmised statement on this most recent Facebook status.

“Most people won’t share this!!!!” was the caption to begin a long winded status copied and pasted onto Warren Anderson’s profile today.

The 67 year old retired plumber joined Facebook a little over a few months ago but has struggled with the concept of the social media platform.

“What? I am friggin (sic) proud of where I came from and how I was raised, so what’s wrong with sharing that on Facebook?” he asked one of our reporters today.

“Why is is pointless sharing something like that? Ah I don’t get it,” said the man who signs off comments on friends and family’s posts with his name.

Warren’s daughter Ella told us that he has tried to explain to his dad that “sharing random stuff like that is only sort of funny if you are doing it a bit ironically.”

“Poor dad. He just doesn’t get it. You should see some of the other shit he shares.”

“Last week he shared a ‘Win 1 of 1243 Free Yacht’ and then asked me if he was a chance to win one….” said Tom.

I grew up in Betoota QLD, during a time when everyone treated each other like Family. We went outside to play , we got dirty and we didn’t eat fast food ….we ate sandwiches , home-cooked meals and got ice cream from the ice cream truck . We played Simon Says , Red Rover , Red Light-Green Light , Hide and Seek , Tag , Hopscotch, Jump Rope, Sticks,Handball,Tennis Cricket and raced against each other in the street. There was no bottled water , we drank water from the hose . We watched cartoons on Saturday mornings and rode our bikes for hours . There was no such thing as a cellphone or any other electronic device . We weren’t AFRAID OF ANYTHING. If someone had a fight, that’s what it was…a fist fight . Kids didn’t have guns when I grew up. The street lights was our curfew. School was mandatory . We watched our mouths around our elders because we knew If you DISRESPECTED any grown up you’re gonna get it with whatever’s close … Re-post if you’re proud that you came from a close knit community and will never forget where you came from! Copy & Paste….. I love this if only our kids were the same! I miss these days..
