For residents of the humble inland oasis that is the town of Betoota, the blistering heat has forced their hands somewhat this afternoon.
With the town currently facing the same oppressive conditions most of the country is battling with this afternoon, the choice of Friday destination has already been chosen for many.
With the new year ticking along slowly, and no one really that keen to get their teeth into it yet, the scorching temperatures have convinced a lot of people that there is only one place to be this afternoon.
One local Sales Rep from Betoota Heights explained to The Advocate a few moments ago, that his WhatsApp group came to the conclusion that the pub was the only logical place to be in a few hours.
“Really and truly, the sweltering heat today puts forward an undeniable and absolute truth if you know what I mean,” explained the man named Zach Samson.
“Conditions like this are actually a health threat if you want to get serious about it.”
“And they always say that you should find a cool place and stay hydrated.”
“So, the Betoota Hotel or somewhere like it is really the safest place to be on a day like this, which is the conclusion we came to after a little bit of brainstorming.”
“You can’t argue with the logic really. It just makes sense.”
