Whoever said men don’t like to gossip, is very very wrong.
In fact, if you were to hang out in the Mathieson household for more than five minutes, you’d find that the person most keen to hear the tea isn’t Alisha, but her perpetually nosy husband Ryan.
As someone who doesn’t have much going on with his life, Ryan tends to live vicariously through Alisha’s friendship circle, which luckily always has plenty of drama to satiate his curiosity.
Practically running home to tell his wife whenever he does hear the occasional tidbit of marriage troubles from his mates, Ryan thrives on both dishing out secrets and being on the receiving end, which he does so with utmost enthusiasm.
So when he heard Alicia saying ‘omg no way’ multiple times one Friday night, Ryan was seen quickly emerging from his study to sit by the couch to coax some answers.
“What happened?” mouths Ryan, pointing at the phone, “tell me!!!”
Holding a hand over the speaker, Alicia tries to shoo him away only to inadvertently capture his attention further when she gasps.
Reaching out towards the phone and whispering “who is it? Is it Claire!”, Ryan receives a whack on the shoulder from his wife, who quickly mouths that she’ll tell him afterwards.
It’s alleged the phone call was in relation to a friend’s husband’s affair, which caused a very excited Ryan to pace around the lounge room with a hand on his chin, pausing dramctically to quip that he noticed cracks in the marriage years ago.
