In some sad news for Sydney’s organised crime figures and those who benefit from being associated with them, the city’s underworld is on its knees today.
This comes after yet another devastating hit of underage strip searches over the weekend, with another 44 children being forced to expose themselves at the Good Life Festival.
With the already struggling organised crime industry feeling the full force of the economic downturn, the latest round of strip searches has had a huge effect on the various networks relying on the illegality of things like drugs an insider has revealed.
The industry insider who runs a large superficially above the board business with a few warehouses out in places like Macquarie Fields and Granville, who has requested anonymity for obvious reasons, says he isn’t sure how much more the city’s underworld can take.
“The illegal strip-searching of kids at festivals has our supply chain completely strangled,” said the white-collar socialite who utilises his relationships with NSW police and politicians to maintain his business.
“If we have another weekend of a couple of the dozens searched found with a few caps then I don’t know what we will be forced to do,” he said.
“I mean, they are obviously the enemy but I’ve got to take my hat off to the police for the way they’ve been able to cripple the industry.”
