International Women’s Day has provided an opportunity for men,
women and corporate Facebook accounts to take a moment to
appreciate the women in their life as well as consider the gender
imbalance that they are too tired to care about for the other 364
days of the year.
Outpourings of support for women both notable and unsung have been numerous on social media today, with the exception of Greens leader Senator Richard Di Natale who claims he thought today was a normal day like any other.
“Oh, was that today?” yelled Di Natale as Camp Cope played loudly from his Bluetooth speaker.
“Yeah to me it’s just like any other day. Or just like a state of
mind.”
During an exclusive interview with
The Advocate
Di Natale proceeded to produce a piece of parchment from his breast
pocket which contained the names of his 998 most influential
women.
“It was 1000 but then I had to take out JK Rowling. And Lee
Rhiannon.“
Senator Di Natale then proceeded to read the list in its entirety
pausing only to remind listeners that this is the sort of thing he
does every day.
“If I had my way we’d have International Women’s Year. Not that I’d observe it.”
More to come.
