There has been growing noise in the Twittersphere this week, as the list of Miss Universe nominees revealed that every single contestant comes from planet Earth.

Using hashtags such as #notmyuniverse and #fuckplanetism, social media commentators from the Andromeda galaxy to GN-z11 have taken aim at Miss Universe judges and organisers, calling them out for the gross oversight of any non-earthling contestants.

“It’s completely unacceptable” said Brian from Centaurus A. “I mean it’s year 2700860! You’d think we’d have some reflective representation by now”.

Kathy, from ULAS J1120+0641 agreed. “I mean c’mon. Of all the planets in all the, idk, hundred BILLION galaxies…eff you Earth”.

“Ummm sorry we can’t be all dark haired haired, racially ambiguous humanoids!” said another outraged galactically-foreign twitter user, who appeared even more outraged after the pageant vowed to work towards rectifying the the lack of diversity amongst winners.

“Representation should never be an afterthought… This remains something I want to be outraged about.  It’s pretty sickening actually. It’s horrific. It’s almost worse then my stepdad”

In fact the only galaxy that didn’t care too much about it was the Baby Boom galaxy, aka EQ J100054+023435, who didn’t seem to really want to change anything. Instead they took aim at the younger stars and galaxies for asking them think about things that they don’t like thinking about. “Snowflakes” they said.
