An elderly man has allegedly cringed to death after watching a string of new comedy programs on the ABC.
The 94-year-old man’s distraught wife says that her husband fell unconscious while watching Rosehaven and never woke up.
It’s understood by police that the man was heard to be sighing heavily and groaning in the minutes leading up to his death.
“It’s a tragedy,” says a family spokesman.
“He didn’t deserve to go out like that – he was a veteran for Christ’s sake.”
The family has not ruled out launching legal action, saying that these “abhorrent” programs need to be taken off the air.
Last year, a 44-year-old woman suffered a major stroke while being forced to watch Upper Middle Bogan by her teenage children.
The woman lost her eyesight, her ability to speak and is now confined to a wheelchair but is comforted by the fact that she’ll never have to watch the ABC again.
“The ABC I know and love died with my optical nerves.” says the woman.
The Advocate approached the ABC for comment but have yet to respond.
