A Betoota Plains man is today being praised for a lovely little tribute to some of our frontline heroes.
With the 12th of May marking International Nurses Day, Koen Ramsey has decided to pay his respects in his own way – by drinking a schooner over the course of an hour.
The theme for this year is Our Nurses. Our Future.
The day aims to highlight the incredible work that nurses do to save lives and give hope, all while being re-numerated poorly when compared to many of their health peers.
Here in town, Ramsey has made a stirring effort to drink his schooner as slowly as he possibly can, in an effort to show solidarity with our front line brothers and sisters.
Facing a barrage of calls about ‘how his nursing degree is going,’ Ramsey said the small gesture is the least he can do.
“Nurses are some of the greatest people in our society, and a light ribbing from my friends is the least I can do for the underpaid angels who help keep our hospitals running.”
“Cheers,” he said, taking a tiny tiny sip of his schooner.
More to come.
