Overpriced fast food joint Grill’d have discreetly contacted the Rural Fire Service today.
The company responsible for ripping off workers through a bullshit ‘traineeship program’ they use to justify underpaying staff, have enquired with the emergency service regarding some of their volunteers.
The traineeship program operates under the premise that the $370 million dollar company pays people far lower than the award rate on the basis that they are ‘trainees,’ in a policy that the employees say is a rip-off.
Speaking to The Advocate a short time ago, Grill’d CEO Simon Crowe said he made contact with the fireys after hearing Scott Morrison inform the nation that the volunteer firefighters don’t mind fighting the fires because they want to be there.
“Once we heard that there is a group of people pretty much working for free, we thought we’d drop them a line and come and see if they want to be overworked at our joint,” said Crowe.
“I mean we’ve been operating off the basis of underpaying our staff, but if we can get people to work for free, then endless profits are a truly achievable goal.”
“And we’ll make sure to keep the Local Matters initiative going, so people can really get behind our fireys who will be working in our burger joint.”
It’s believed that George Colombaris and his MAde establishment have also contacted the RFS about the possibility of hiring some RFS volunteers.
