The Premier of the greatest state of all has today renewed her calls for the Federal Government to extend the JobKeeper Scheme to a struggling local industry.
Her requests come on behalf of the tourism sector, which may have been somewhat negatively impacted by one of her major political strategies.
Speaking exclusively to The Advocate this morning Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has again asked the government to pick up the slack from the prolonged border closures her government implemented over the last 12 months.
“Tourism is struggling, and I once again am demanding the government prolong the JobKeeper scheme for tourism operators who had countless people cancel or nervously stay away from coming up and pumping money into their businesses,” she said.
“Think of the people of the Gold, Sunshine and the Tropical North Coast’s who are struggling because of the fact tourists from around Australia have had their holidays cancelled,” said the Premier a few 100 k’s up from the booming Far North Coast of NSW.
“This is heartless from the federal government. Tourism operators know we had an election to win and they understand that we had to present a patriotic Queensland front to try and distract from a lot of the social issues plaguing our Great State.”
“These bloody southerners, always trying to pull piss with us.”
“Just keep the JobKeeper taps turned on for tourism and let us deal with everything else up here without asking questions about our role in the nation.”
