The Prime Minister has offered his apologies for his recent actions today as he returns early from a Hawaiian holiday.
Scott Morrison said he’s ‘done some soul searching’ and reflected on the true gravity of his actions.
He spoke to the media a short time ago in Sydney.
“I’ve looked up what leadership means in the dictionary and unfortunately, it seems like I haven’t been doing what the definition of it is,” he explained.
“And for that, I apologise. It was a gross error in judgement and those people on my team who said it was fine for me to go on holidays have been swift punished,”
“It is what it is, my dudes.”
However, Scott said he’s not changing his government’s climate policy in light of these recent fires – the largest bushfires in our nation’s recorded history.
“This is a tragedy and shouldn’t be exploited for cheap political points,” he said.
“Now isn’t the time to discuss it. I think everybody should just chill the fuck out a bit and go sit on a beach. Eat some prawns, have a cold beer. Put your feet up. If you can’t afford to do that, then maybe you should’ve had a go and listened a bit harder in school,”
“Kidding!”
More to come.
