While Bindi Irwin is celebrating her engagement to the ‘love of her life,’ millenials across the country are currently steeped in somewhat of an existential crisis.
Irwin said yes to a young man named Chandler Powell, who she met at Australia Zoo some 6 years ago and the couple have been flooded with well-wishes for the joyous occasion.
However, while the news that Bindi got engaged to Powell on her 21st birthday has served as a moment of joy for many, it has also been a stark reminder of mortality to others.
“Is this what it feels like? To get old? To notice the grains of sand slipping through the hourglass?” asked a young renting city person named Alicia Hurlstone stuck at her 9-5 job.
“Because, for the first time in my life, I feel old,” said the Environmental Commerce and Sales Analyst and Consultant at some faceless company in Betoota’s Old City District.
“I’m happy for Bindi obviously. I love Bindi, everyone loves Bindi, it’s just her engagement comes at a time when I begin to ponder whether the time for living week to week in a sharehouse and eating toasted cheese sandwiches at 3 am on a Saturday morning is over.”
The young woman then sighed and paused.
“Take me back to 7:30 am bowl of Nutrigrain and CheezTV please.”
“This is all a bit too much to handle.”
“Next thing you know Nikki Webster’s Strawberry Kisses will be 20 years old.”
