A recent report by Canberra press gallery insiders has found that Tony Abbott has begun giving Senator Patrick Dodson the nod inside the halls of parliament.
Since his flash new role as special convoy for indigenous affairs, Mr Abbott has begun giving the respected Labor Senator a knowing wink and nod anytime they cross paths in Canberra.
“It’s a common sign of solidarity amongst mob” said Mr Abbott, “especially when you’re surround by biggest mob of gubbas. It’s just to let him know that I’m here too. And I like his deadly hat”.
Insider reports have suggested that Senator Dodson has yet to return the sentiment, unsurprising perhaps, as he recently declared that Mr Abbotts new role was “condescending to the overwhelming number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people…given his ignorant, hopeless and frankly offensive track record on indigenous issues”.
Abbott, well known for not taking a hint, has appeared to ignore Dodsons concerns, something he is also well known for.
Reports suggest he has now started becoming far more vocal when Senator Dodson addresses parliament, yelling things like “Yeah my deadly brother!” and “Aaayye lookout what’s this then?” during Dodsons often memorable and articulate speeches.
