Drug detection canines triggered a human stampede last night at an infamous Sydney nightspot that injured 8 revelers.
Two of the victims are listed as being in a serious but stable condition in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
The Ivy Pool Bar on George Street in the inner city was targeted by police after detectives were tipped off by the public.
A police spokesman says that Operation Livewire was set up to combat the skyrocketing rates at which narcotics are traded and consumed on Sydney’s nightclub circuit.
“Hopefully last night’s raids sent a clear message to those who choose to consume illegal drugs on a night out,” says the spokesman.
“It was a great result.”
Authorities indicate that the rate narcotics are being consumed by Australians has risen by almost 300% in the past three years with cocaine almost outstripping cannabis as the nation’s most popular illegal drug.
This disturbing trend has created headaches for both police and medical staff because the cocaine affected people are considerably more self-centred and arrogant than they were three years ago.
While the raids failed to net any arrests, the overwhelming fear of being caught with drugs has taken police off guard.
“I’ve never seen anything like it,” says Surry Hills Police sergeant Darryl Cramp.
“People were being tramped to death before my eyes,”
“It just goes to show what a little bit of coke and vodka soda does to people.”

interesting piece of research.
“It just goes to show what a little bit of coke and vodka soda does to people.”
No, it goes to show what fear of a lengthy court procedure in a police state does to people.
“It was a great result”?? They didn’t achieve anything. People got hurt?. These police are kidding themselves.
exactly what i was thinking when i read that line, what the fuck is that
It’s SATIRE, you morons.
Except you, Kate Mac. You can have as many offspring as you desire.
I’d probably freak if a dog squad raided a club I was in too; what did they think would happen and who are they protecting?

I’m also curious as to who this ‘authority’ is and how they conducted their research to support such a claim…
This article is propagated trash that isn’t supported by evidence or even strong rationale. Don’t be scared by cocaine use. Spend the money on dog raids instead on education and support.
By all that is holy I hope none of you breed….
