The Prime Minister has publically doubled down in his efforts to recruit Gladys Berejiklian to Federal Politics this afternoon, reminding her of a big perk of working in Canberra.
Speaking to the former leader of NSW, who is still the subject of a corruption inquiry, Scotty reportedly told her that she needn’t worry about anything like that down in the capital.
“Don’t stress about that,” laughed the Prime Minister.
“There’s no ICAC to get in the way of Federal Politics,” he continued.
His latest comments come after publically backing Gladys over the last few months, saying that the NSW ICAC was a ‘kangaroo court’ who went incredibly hard on her during their ‘pile on.’
The man who constantly says there is no need for a corruption commission because there’s nothing to hide has now taken it to the next level by outright asking Gladys to run for the federal seat of Warringah against Independent Zali Stegall.
The pleas come despite the ICAC investigation into her and Daryl Maguire’s behaviour continuing, with the potential for criminal charges being recommended at the end of it.
However, while some might deem it wise to maybe sit this election out and avoid a potential by-election as a result of the ICAC findings, Scotty told Gladys she should just jump back in.
“You’ve got the public sentiment on your side up in the apathetic comfortable Northern Suburbs of Sydney,” Morrison said.
“Don’t worry about all that other stuff.”
“We are gonna push back a federal corruption commission for a few years atleast”
“So we are all good!”
Gladys Berijiklian declined to comment when contacted by The Advocate.
