An Auspost delivery driver has today been absolutely reamed by his boss for going against company rules and actually following a customer’s instructions.
Terry Hayes [31] tells The Advocate that the recipient had selected ‘yes’ to having their package left at their doorstep if they weren’t home, which he’d assumed was exactly what he was supposed to do. However, when he’d returned back to work with a full stack of red slips, his boss had immediately ripped him a new one and called him a ‘garbage delivery driver.’
“It was intense”, says Terry, looking visibly shaken, “apparently I was supposed to leave it at a post office a few suburbs away instead.”
The recipient, mother of three Debra Coombs, says she’s pretty upset that the driver did what she asked.
“Yeah it’s poor form to be honest.”
“I have two kids in school and look after my third at home, who’s just turned two. He’s a bit of a handful and an absolute fucking pain into the car.”
“Why the fuck would I wanted my box of tubberware delivered straight to my door? I planned my day around receiving a message from Auspost telling me the package was in the middle of fucking nowhere, so I could be so busy that I completely forget to pick it up and it’s shipped back.”
“I hope that cunt’s fired.”
Luckily for Debra, The Advocate has since learned that Terry has since been let go and replaced with a former Zambrero worker, who’s used to putting a coin sized piece of meat on customer’s burritos.
More to come.
