Looking at him, you wouldn’t think local tradie Michael Lewis had a soft spot for jazz music.
But when a fellow workmate spotted a Norah Jones on his dashboard, Michael allegedly didn’t even try to hide his love for the Grammy award-winning artist, nor did he try to pin it on his wife.
It’s alleged Michael Moore [32] had agreed to pick up another foreman on his way to work that morning, in an act of good faith considering his mate was having car issues.
But like any good Aussie, his mate had returned the favour by endlessly teasing him with whatever he can find – and spotting the album was an absolute gold mine.
“That yours mate?” asks John, pointing at the CD, “wouldn’t have taken you for a friend of Elton’s haha.”
“Yep, fucking love Norah Jones.”
When his ribbing didn’t seem to bother Michael, John was taken aback and didn’t know what to say.
“Oh…didn’t know you were such a softie haha.”
“Nah, it’s not soft to like jazz. But there’s nothing wrong with being in touch with your feelings, anyway.”
“‘Come away with me’ got me through some tough times.”
