A local woman has today tried to justify why she doesn’t have a license, despite being a grown adult.
Maddy Hansen [25] is alleged to have copped some flack from some mates yet again, for relying on Ubers and public transport to get around.
Despite having both the time and money to learn how to drive, Maddy somehow manages to make plenty of excuses when questioned about her lack of independence, including a sob story about her upbringing.
“I just don’t want to do the hours”, says a defensive Maddy, who’s well aware that she doesn’t have to do 100 hours anymore.
”I don’t have the time or someone to teach me.”
Adding that her mum had been too much of a nervous passenger, Maddy says she wasn’t able to learn as a teenager, which is 100% the reason why she never learned to drive.
“Dad was too busy to teach me, so it just kept being pushed back”, explains Maddy.
“And it’s not like I could get 100 hours in lessons, we couldn’t afford that.”
“Honestly, I’ve never needed to drive as I’ve always lived close to the city.”
When asked how much she’s spent on Ubers, Maddy tactfully dodges the question.
“It’s better for the environment anyway.”
