Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has shown his affable personality off on the world stage today.
Engaging in some friendly diplomacy with other leaders at the G7 summit, Albanese reportedly broke the ice with his Japanese counterpart by asking a relatable question.
“You got any of those Minus 196s,” laughed Albanese to Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
A slightly confused Kishida politely laughed, before asking what the big fella was asking about.
“You know, those double lemon bad boys?” said Albanese.
“Come on chief, where ya hiding the good stuff?”
“I thought you guys created them?”
Kishida continued nodding and laughing before a staffer whispered in his ear, explaining that the extremely popular 196s had made their way south.
“Ohhhhhhh,” said Kishida after facing a line of questioning that he wasn’t expecting at a large summit for important world leaders to discuss important world issues.
“We actually don’t have any in the boardroom believe it or not, but I can run out to 7/11 and get you some,” Kishida politely said in regards to the Tokyo tinnies.
In an interesting turn of events Albanese accepted the offer with the pair bailing out to a local convenience store to help with some international diplomacy moderators.
“These were the greatest things you ever sent us,” laughed Albo after the pair picked up a couple double lemons.
“Now, Nickel? What are we thinking about that stuff?” said the Australian PM, finally getting down to business.
More to come.
