This weekend Josh “The Logan Wrecking Ball” Papalii will notch up 225 games for the Canberra, and with an opposition like Parramatta, there’s good odds on him adding to his 53 NRL tries.
2021 will likely see the most versatile prop in the game make over 20 appearance for Queensland in the State Of Origin, and will add much needed horsepower to whichever national side he decides to play for – if the international tests can get off ground.
However, forgetting the footballer for a minute, it’s also become evident to fans and commentators that Josh Papalli’s mullet is also in it’s career best form.
Hairdressers around the country have been commenting on the gorgeous body of hair, with many excited to see what else the mullet has got in store for round three.
The Betoota Advocate spoke to Queensland hairdressing magnate and rugby league die-hard, Stefan Ackerie.
Stefan says Josh Papalii’s mullet gives him high hopes for Queensland’s Origin chances this year.
“It’s just… maginificent” says Stefan, an owner of over 32 salons and prominent manufacturer of hair and beauty products.
“The way it glides in slow motion every time he trucks the nut up the middle”
“It’s just something we’ve never seen before in the NRL.”
“I don’t think I’ve even seen something that beautiful sitting on a chair in front of me”
“It’s definitely gonna get the Maroons up and about this year”
As the ‘party out back’ hairstyle gradually reasserts itself as a mainstream stayer in both the rugby league and Australian youth fashion in general, it appears that Papalii has taken his ‘Logan Waterfall’ to a whole new level.
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart says that Papalli’s beautifully conditioned dingo pelt is great for morale down there in the chilly capital.
“There’s cogs to this green machine” says Sticky Ricky.
“We don’t play the football we play without a plan”
“And Papalli’s ‘Canberra Passport’ is a big part of that plan.”
“That mullet is the last thing our boys see when Josh busts the line and goes over under the posts”
“I’ve told him the mullet stays for 2021.. and pending negotiations with the club doctors, hopefully Josh can add a few more inches to it by finals”
MORE TO COME.
