It can now be confirmed that a trip to Melbourne cannot be complete until at least one person you’re travelling with has uttered the words, ‘typical Melbourne weather’, or made some sort of joke pertaining to just how quickly it can go from raining, to sunny, to raining again.
Though some boring people may prefer to experience just one season year round, Melburnians can safely say they get to experience all four, sometimes multiple times a day.
This can often be very confusing to visitors who are unused to having absolutely no idea what to wear when going out, or that you should always bring a cardigan or coat with you just in case (and not a jumper, unless you want to be pulling over your head all day).
With thousands of visitors descending into the metropolitan city for the Grand Prix, AFL and International Comedy Festival, it can be expected that there will be quite a few quips about the rapidly shifting weather, especially from dads who reckon the wind ‘has a bit of a bite to it, hey.’
