Jewellery stores in Betoota are on standby this morning after a local couple have confirmed that they’re in it for the long haul.
Strolling out in matching pairs of black Arizona Birkenstocks, local Betoota Lakes couple Jess Eddington (29) and Jayke Carlisle (28) are reportedly so comfortable in their relationship that they’re not afraid to match their footwear.
Despite having only met recently, witnesses say things must be getting pretty serious for the pair who spent their Sunday morning enjoying a slow breakfast and discussing plans to take their new puppy to doggy school.
“Wow Jess and Jayke must be getting pretty serious,” a member of wait staff told The Advocate.
“I thought Jayke was moving to London, but he’s looking pretty shackled to Betoota to me!”
Despite being only six months into their relationship, Jess and Jayke admitted to The Advocate that things have been moving pretty quick and they’ve been breaking all the usual relationship taboos far earlier than expected.
“Yeah I spose this is moving quick, like I’ve been leaving a spare pair of work flats at his house,” Jess told The Advocate.
“And the other night I took a dump in the same bathroom while Jess was in the shower,” said Jayke, “I always thought that was marriage behaviour but I guess when you know, you know!”
Asked if they were ready to start a joint bank account, the couple told The Advocate that whilst they were moving quick, they weren’t yet willing to sacrifice their financial stability at this stage of the relationship.
“Nah mate, no joint accounts yet, we’re not stupid,” said Jayke whilst stuffing his face with a 63- degree egg smattered on a piece on oat and olive sourdough.
“But we are looking at getting combined custody of this new puppy pretty soon, we’re going to go to the pound and look at this adorable Labra-shoodle just after breakfast!”
“We want to call him “Birk!”
More to come.
