In breaking news from Betoota’s social scene, a wedding is off and a diamond ring is up for grabs for anyone looking to cash in on a bargain.
The news comes as local paralegal Eliza Lee-Jameson (29) listed an 18k white gold engagement ring on Facebook marketplace this week, with the view to sell ‘immediately’.
For local financial advisor Haylee Campbell however, the listing was made even more salacious due the fact that Eliza was Haylee’s sworn frenemy in high school, a girl she stayed connected with on Instagram to simply judge her every move.
Speaking to The Advocate this morning, Haylee said she’s been working around the clock to piece together the full story, and has several of her old school mates also on the task.
“Man this is crazy news, she’s been dating Blair Henderson since Year 11” Haylee told our reporter, whilst thumbing through the group chat of high school girlfriends looking for the screenshots.
“They’ve been together for almost 10 years, something’s up!”
As two equally talented high achievers at St Hawthorn School for Girls, it’s well known tensions have always existed between the pair, particularly after a tumultuous school musical back in 2011, where Haylee and Eliza played the roles of Elphaba and Glinda in the school production of ‘Wicked’.
Now over a decade on, Haylee admitted the whole saga about the collapsed engagement of the former high school sweethearts was worthy an in depth investigation similar to those carried out for a true crime podcast.
“I’m just dying to know what’s gone on, it wasn’t too long ago she was posing in front of a new Kia Sportage with him, that’s baby seat business!”
“I guess her beating me to Motherhood is not a chance now, but anyway, how ugly was that ring?!”
