A local herbivore is causing some trouble this evening, putting the handbrake on a rigorously crafted group pizza order.
After overhearing friends debate which pizzas should be thrown into the mix for a large delivery, it’s reported local vegetarian Chelsea Andrews entered the kitchen of a French Quarter house party to ensure her dietary needs would be met.
“Ooooh are you guys ordering some pizza?” cooed the local vego.
“How about we swap that BBQ Pulled Pork one for Smokey Pulled Jackfruit, have you ever tried it?”
“It’s so good, haha!”
After watching several of her friends exchange uneasy looks, it’s believed Chelsea chimed in to remind them that she was good to eat anything, as long as it was plant-based and didn’t contain any wheat, a paramount ingredient of Italian cuisine.
“I’m easy, as long as it’s vego and gluten-free!” said Chelsea.
“Actually can we drop the Eagle Boys and order from that Woodfellas Pizza place instead, they do the best cashew nut cheese!”
Speaking to house party host Liam Hanigan, it’s understood Chelsea’s uninvited arrival into the group order has thrown an unwelcome spanner in the works.
After spending nine minutes curating a perfectly balanced order ranging from Peri Peri Chicken, Garlic Prawn and a Double Meatlovers, Liam told The Advocate he was unwilling to sacrifice any of his early work to cater for the pesky latent vegetarian.
“Mate, if Chelsea thinks she can swan on in here and sub out greek lamb for grilled artichoke she’s got another thing coming…”
“The only vego one we’re getting is Margarita and that’s just cos it’s a classic and goes down a treat at 3am when you need to digest something a little gentle.”
“If she’s really that hungry she’ll pick the ham off the Hawaiian like any other considerate vegetarian, I ain’t changing a thing!”
More to come.
