A study of cafes and customers in Betoota’s Flight Path District has found the amount of elderly Greek men outside the cafe is directly proportional to the size of the venue’s big brekky.

Known for cafes that serve cappuccinos with foam a metre tall, Betoota’s Flight Path District is home to a coalition of elderly Greek men who love nothing more than to spend 4-6 hours out the front of their favourite cafe.

It’s thanks to men like Castor Castellanos (72) that value lovers and recession victims alike now know which cafes are serving up the Big Brekkies that are truly worthy of their alliterative adjective.

Today, Castellanos finds himself out the front of Breaky Hub which according to him provides the best value big brekky in terms of quantity over quality.

“Big portions,” states Castellanos, stretching his arms wide as if describing a large game fish.

“Good fried eggs but you get more when you ask for scrambled. And sauce on the side because they bring the whole bottle to the table.”

When asked about the research findings, Castellanos stated that men like him are not just an index for the big breakfast but also a decent indicator that the waitresses will put up with comments about how nice they look today.

“$12 for coffee, breakfast and a show! Not bad and the toast doesn’t completely suck either!”
