After weeks of off-field drama and poor on-field performances, the Manly Sea Eagles have been kicked while they are down, as it appears they are now facing an administration challenge.

As reported by the Daily Telegraph last weeka consortium of loyalists to the North Sydney Bears are attempting to align themselves with the now defunct rugby league club and buy the license of the Manly Sea Eagles.

The Betoota Advocate caught up with the interested investors, who were drinking in the front bar of sleepy North Sydney Hotel.

“It’s our duty to bring back the bears” said Bryce, a retired local Butcher.

“And if we have to buy the Silvertails to do that, then so be it”

“We’ve all paid of our mortgages years back and the kids are out of home, what else do we spend our money on?”

“Apart from Tooheys Old”

Earlier in the week, The Australian’s chief rugby league reporter Brent Read revealed that cashed-up investors from Qatar were also attempting to purchase the under pressure northern beaches club, meaning the consortium of Bears tragics might have to bring a bit more to the table.

“I reckon we could do it.” says Ambrose, a retired panel beater from Chatswood.

“Let’s run a few raffles, maybe you could put on a Friday night meat tray, Bryce.”
