EDITORIAL
Historically, whenever The Advocate writes articles about a certain part of the world being unsavoury or doing unsavoury things, our website falls victim to a Denial of Service Attack.
This creates a problem for our technical department and our owners, who are a Chinese-led venture capital hedge fund based in Macao.
It also gives The Advocate’s underwriters and insurers a big headache. The latter being Dollarhyde Insurance & Bird Seed in the Old City District.
So before our newspaper sends a reporter to the FINA swimming world championships in South Korea, Dollarhyde has asked that The Advocate first test out whether writing an article about China’s drug cheat swimmer Sun Yang will result in our newspaper being taken down.
The Advocate currently has a DDoS protection policy with Dollarhyde.
However, it’s due to be renewed at the end of the month and the good people at Dollarhyde are worried that Australian swimming champion Mack Horton and his ongoing rivalry with cheater Sun Yang will result in our website being constantly under attack from a foreign state actor.
Because our news media organisation reporters the news, both here and overseas, without fear or favour, we will continue to cover the Horton-Yang rivalry with a huge bias toward Horton as he doesn’t use banned substances to gain an advantage over his fellow competitors.
If our website is taken down, Dollarhyde has informed us that our premium will increase significantly.
So we have decided to see if our website gets taken down for saying Sun Yang is a drug cheat.
