The NRL has continued to serve up the good stuff this week, with the Footy Gods gifting fans an incredible upset victory on Saturday afternoon.
With plenty of viewers of the greatest game of all expecting a walkover, the South Sydney Rabbitohs somehow managed to conjure up an incredible 80 minute performance to dust the West Tigers.
The spellbinding 17 man effort from the Bunnies saw them just edge the Tigers 20-0 in tough conditions at Olympic Park in Sydney’s west.
Widely regarded as the overwhelming favourites to win the 2023 NRL premiership, the Wests Tigers went into the game on the back of a stunning 2 week win streak, but were halted by an inspired Rabbitohs team.
The huge win from the team from Redfern catapults them into finals contention, with many pundits now claiming that they could challenge the Wests Tigers in the Grand Final.
The Wests Tigers will look to recover against the North Queensland Cowboys this weekend, where the Cowboys will need to show their Queensland Spirit if they aren’t to be blown off the park.
Coach Tim Sheens is largely expected to stick with the same team that has set the league alight this year, with no questions yet being asked about how deep they can go in September.
