Rugby League Supremo Gus Gould has offered a rare admission of misjudgment this week, as he gorges himself on the post Grand Final wash up.
Enjoying a post-game feed at The Dynasty Chinese Restaurant at Canterbury Leagues Club, Gould has reportedly told his dining party that his maths may have been a little off, when he constructed his famous ‘5 Year Plan’ for Penrith way back in 2011.
“Yeah look when I said 5 years, I really meant 10,” Gus told Bulldogs club officials whilst spinning the Lazy Susan around to quaff down the last Honey King Prawn.
“I estimated the time using NSW government years, I gave Penrith a number and they should have doubled it.”
“I was using the same metrics as Gladys”
Asked about his involvement in tonight’s Grand Final win by the Penrith Panthers, Gus has reportedly stopped short of taking absolute credit for a club that he left three years ago.
“Yeah, of course it wouldn’t have happened had I not set up those Rugby League pathways, they were vital to what happened on the field tonight.”
“I can see us here at the Dogs fast tracking ourselves to the same level of success, probably within the next three years!”
“Give or take a few…”
More to come.
