The new Wallabies coach is beginning his tenure with a bang, it can be confirmed today.
Returning as the coach of the Australian Rugby team 18 years after he left it, Eddie Jones has revealed his plans to kickstart Australia’s World Cup campaign.
Jones was appointed as the new coach of the team on Monday, with Dave Rennie sensationally sacked.
With the showpiece event of the Rugby World just over 8 months away, the former English and Japanese coach had confirmed his interest in signing three players from the NRL.
Much speculation had been made about which youngsters would be brought across from Rugby League, with names like Angus Crichton, Joseph Sua’ali’i and Will Penisini floated in rugby circles.
However, The Betoota Advocate can now reveal which three rugby league stars will be poached for the upcoming Rugby World Cup – and the names might surprise you.
The former Galloping Green Eddie Jones has confirmed to our newspaper that he will be bringing across Matt Rogers, Wendell Sailor and Lote Tuqiri.
The bombshell revelation comes with perks for Australia’s Super Rugby sides, with the three superstars who took us to a World Cup final in 2003 set to be spread across three franchises.
Unlike the glory days of the Wallatahs, Wendell is likely to be sent to the Reds with Lote heading down to Melbourne and Matt taking the Brumbies bullet.
The signings are set to be announced in the coming days, with Jones likely to face plenty of questions about signing 3 blokes over the age of 40.
“Welcome to the new age of Dellivision,” laughed Eddie this morning.
More to come.
