The South Sydney Rabbitohs face Canberra in a preliminary final at GIO Stadium this friday, where a defeat will mark their last appearance in this year’s NRL season.
It’s for this reason that they have decided to ask one of their most loyal and powerful supporters to keep a wide berth for the next couple weeks.
The office for opposition leader Anthony Albanese have today confirmed that executives from his beloved Rabbitohs have politely requested that he keep away from the plays and coaching staff until the grand final after-match celebrations, if they make it that far.
“Yeah, look, I’m not big on superstition” coach Wayne Bennett told reporters today during one of those rare press conferences where he answers questions.
“But after talking to the board, Rusty, and Sutto.. We think it’s best to just keep a bit of space between us and Albo for the next couple weeks”

Albanese says he gets the picture, but still strongly detested the insinuations that Scott Morrison’s election landslide was in anyway his fault.
“I was all for franking credits lol” Albanese reportedly texted to Bennett.
“But OK. I better get a photo with the trophy”
