The Betoota Advocate’s editors Errol Parker and Clancy Overell would like to finally face the media regarding the swirling rumours that suggest it was them playing the murdered LNP and ALP candidates from the Kennedy Electorate in Bob Katter’s controversial new campaign video.
Errol Parker has spoken on the matter.
“This is in fact the truth, after arriving in Mt. Isa late last week, before flying out to Sydney, we were in touch with both Robbie Katter and the Honourable Bob Katter, the latter of who agreed to be interviewed by our newspaper, providing we star as extras in his newest campaign video, and help him protest foreign ownership of Australian assets” says Errol Parker.
“We would also like to point out that upon agreeing to help out in Mr Katter’s newest campaign video, both Clancy and I had consumed roughly 33 standard drinks each both inside and in the car park the Barkly Hotel in the Queensland Mining Capital – as part of a pre-Origin warm up,”
Our newspaper does not see any correlation between a federal minister murdering us in cold blood on video and the other city-centric allegations made by mainstream media outlets across the country.
One point we would like to make is, that, with 166 mass shootings having happened already in America this year, there is literally no way that Katter’s Australian Party could have shared this video without being accused of showing insensitivity towards lives that have been lost as a result of America’s gun epidemic. We have spoken about our thoughts on this issue before.”
We should also point out that the gun used in this particular video was not real. This is due to the fact that Clancy Overell has been legally banned from being in the same vicinity as an active firearm, after trouble with his licence arose during the 1997 Howard buyback scheme.
Mr Overell has also given comment on today’s trending news piece.
“After witnessing a close Origin win by the Queensland Maroons in a mining town heavily serviced by FIFO workers, many of New South Wales descent, we can also attest that, witnessing the Independent Member for Kennedy pretend to murder us – is by far the the least violent thing we had any part in over our short stay in the Deep North,”
“We do not appreciate the condescending emails from sensationalist news outlets and we will endeavour to send back equally inappropriate responses to each and every one of you.”
Our video interview with Bob Katter will be released in the lead up to Origin Game II
