Queensland is once again the superior footballing state.

This comes after two months of cultural anxiety for Queenslanders, following Brisbane’s respective AFL and NRL grand final losses.

However, the entire state has once again able to rest easy knowing that we are the best at football, after the girls delivered a sensations 17-point AFLW grand final victory over North Melbourne at Princes Park on Saturday.

“Once again, we are back on top” says Queensland’s Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk.

“You are only as good as your last football grand final”

“And the most recent football grand final that any Queensland team played in was the AFLW grand final over the weekend. Which we won, so that means we are the best at football. In any code of football”

After trailing by seven points at three-quarter time, the girls were able to snatch the season decider with a 7.2 (44) to 4.3 (27) for their second AFLW premiership.

Not only did they avenge their own side’s 2022 Grand Final loss, but also every other team from Queensland that lost a grand final since then.

There were cheers from the Gabba and Red Hill as the Brisbane AFLW side lifted up the silverware, in turn vindicating the mens Lions and the Broncos, and the Reds.

Both Panthers fans and Collingwood fans are reportedly furious this week, after their team’s NRL and AFL premierships were effectively made voice by Brisbane’s AFLW premiership glory.

Queenslanders, now vindicated, wait patiently for the 2024 State Of Origin series – where we expect to take home both the Mens and Womens trophies.

Because we are the best.
