A local early-40s bloke with daughters has revealed himself to be an early-40s bloke with daughters last night, during a work event at a prominent Betoota karaoke bar.

Damien Kruger (43, accountant) has spent the last five years of his life tuning out from popular culture, and in that time he has not ingested any music or film that is not directly based around talking dogs or magical princesses.

However, last night Damien was expected to break away from the life of early fatherhood for a couple hours at a staff bonding session.

It was at this very moment that he realised that, like his daughter, his entire personality may be now centred around the 2013 Disney film Frozen.

“I actually can’t even remember the lyrics to any Bruce Springsteen songs anymore” says a distressed Damien.

“Or Biggie Smalls. Or Bon Jovi… Those we were once my go-to karaoke songs…”

“I couldn’t even remember the choruses nowadays”

When it was his turn to have a go on the microphone, Damien began to panic about what song to sing.

With his entire office of cool younger kids staring at him, expecting him to reveal at little bit about himself, Damien has not option other than to do what he knows.

He stands on the shonky podium and proceeds to unload all 10 original songs from ‘Frozen: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack‘ – including the critically acclaimed Academy and Grammy award winning “Let It Go”

Complete with the frills and princess-like pirouettes of Elsa and Anna, it becomes very clear that Damien has accepted that this is who he is now.

“I wasn’t really happy with my rendition of ‘Fixer Upper’ – I was a bit off” he says.

“But it’s one that I’m used to harmonising with the girls on, so yeah, it was a bit daunting to hit that one solo”

His audience of work colleagues were reportedly a bit confused, some even bored, after Damien’s 70-minute performance, but he was joined by several other young dads who played back up singers during his final encore of ‘For The First Time In Forever’.

“I didn’t even know Ken from HR was a Fro-Bro” he says.

“The mans got some pipes on him”
