The entire plant is still kind of surprised that Elon Musk has not somehow made this missing submersible story about himself.

The 6.7-metre submersible Titan, operated by US-based OceanGate Expeditions, began its descent at 8am on Sunday (local time) – and has become a global news story since everyone became an expert on underwater travel.

Many thought this disaster would be one that Elon Musk would rush to – However, it seems he may be preoccupied tweeting about gender culture wars with complete nobodies on his own social media platform.

This comes several years after Musk lashed out at the hero British diver behind the dramatic rescue of a Thai youth soccer team and their coach – after his offer of help was labelled a “PR stunt”.

In 2018, twelve members of a junior Thai soccer team team, aged 11 to 16, found themselves trapped deep within a underwater cave system after heavy rainfall during a team excursion.

This horrifying disaster had the entire world watching for days on end, which obviously upset Elon Musk, who worked tirelessly to find a way to insert himself into the story.

The Tesla and SpaceX founder brought a mini submarine to Thailand, which he suggested could be used to get the boys out, but the idea was rejected by officials as “not practical” – because it was very clearly just an opportunity for Musk to promote his tech empire.

British diver Vern Unsworth, 63, a key member of the rescue team, shot down Mr Musk’s idea in an interview about the ordeal with CNN.

“He can stick his submarine where it hurts,” Mr Unsworth said.

“It had absolutely no chance of working. He had no conception of what the cave passage was like… Just a PR stunt.”

Mr Musk responded by making the unfounded claims about the veteran diver, calling him ‘a pedo guy’ – in one of the most glorious dummy spits of all time.

He was later taken to court over his comments, only after the people who knew what they were doing had saved every single one of the boys trapped in the cave. This may be why we haven’t heard anything from him regarding the Titanic submarine, but there’s still time for him to make it about himself.

MORE TO COME.
