The NRL world has been turned on its head today, after the best player in the game dropped a bombshell announcement.
Penrith Panthers premiership hero Nathan Cleary has this afternoon revealed that he will be leaving the Area Spice Boys.
While there has been much speculation that Scary Spice (Jarome Laui) might be leaving the foot of the mountains, it is in fact Posh Spice (Nathan Cleary) who will be departing.
Despite the fact he is on a monster deal with the Penrith Panthers and has a raft of big performances ahead of him, Cleary has confirmed that he will be heading off to Spain.
The sensational move comes after his partner shocked the football world by taking part in a stunning transfer to Real Madrid.
The Matildas star who is currently with the table topping Manchester City, confirmed earlier today that she will be moving to the Spanish Capital to become one of the Galacticos.
It will see Fowler join fellow Australian Hayley Raso as one of the Galacticos.
The news was broken to Nathan Cleary, famous for being Mary Fowler’s HAB (Husband and Boyfriend), who now has to uproot his life and start fresh in Spain.
“Hala Madrid,” said Cleary to The Advocate this afternoon.
“Look, it’s obviously going to be a big move but I’ve downloaded Duo Lingo and I’m ready to go.”
Cleary refused to confirm whether he has signed for the Madrid Lions Rugby club yet, but sources close to the Spanish Rugby team have told The Advocate that it’s all but done.
That signing has come as a massive unexpected boost to the struggling Wallabies, who will now be able to select him as one of their overseas based players.
