A Betoota Old City District job site has been shut down today, after a ‘dangerous safety incident.’

Work on the high rise construction in our CBD has ground to halt following the local construction union deciding to find some safety issues.

However, while their may have been some issues with some electrical outlets or lighting or whatever, The Betoota Advocate can exclusively reveal that the actual cause for the walk off was a new vending machine.

One with fruit and veges and kombucha in it.

The new smoko disposal unit was apparently installed yesterday in place of one of the old faithfuls, and the items it stocks has sent shockwaves right across the site.

“Yeah, obviously I can’t officially confirm that, but the boys weren’t happy when the new vendo turned up,” said one of the Union Reps.

“Kombucha, maybe, but the lack of Cheese and Bacon Traveller Pies and cuppa noodles isn’t good enough.”

“We refuse to let our boys work under these conditions. Really, we should have smoko van here every day, but you can’t have it all anymore.”

“But we won’t stand for this piece of shit vending machine.”

“So we’ll keep finding safety issues until they bring back the old one.”

More to come.
