A local Betoota woman and ‘citizen of the world’ has hit the Bumble jackpot this week after crafting a perfectly unique and alluring Bumble bio where she mentions how much she loves laughing and travel, in an attempt to set herself apart from all of the other women on the dating app.
Hannah Brisby, a 27 year old artisanal lifeguard from Betoota Bay, has been absolutely raking in the matches after she had, in her words, a ‘stroke of genius’, and changed her Bumble bio to mention how much she enjoys feeling enjoyment and visiting other countries where she does not have to stay long-term.
“Honestly, it was a bit inspired”, says Ms. Brisby. “I was just sitting there, wondering why all of my friends seemed to be getting tons of dates while I was spending Friday night watching Ru Paul’s Drag Race, when it hit me – I had to do something to set myself apart from the thousands of other people on the app”
“Firstly, everyone knows that laughing is a famously unenjoyable pastime – that’s why comedy is such an unsuccessful genre, after all. But I actually happen to love laughing! I knew if I mentioned that, it would immediately mark me out as someone who doesn’t follow the crowd”
“Secondly, I know so many women who don’t ever travel – my grandma, my friend Betty’s grandma, my friend Jane’s grandma, so so many women. I knew that if I mention just how much I love visiting other countries and taking in other cultures, it would definitely set me apart from the dozens of women who absolutely HATE going on vacations and having zero stress for weeks on end”.
“In the end, it was actually really simple – I just mentioned the laughing and travel, and it was like I was a completely different person. A person who loves laughing. And to travel”
Ms. Brisby’s brave risk immediately paid dividends – with a host of eligible bachelors blowing her phone up with matches mere hours after the change.
“I was genuinely stunned at how much impact the new bio was having. I mean, I thought I might have ruined everything with the risque bikini picture I included in the update, but it turns out guys didn’t even mind it that much!”
Despite her brand new dating landscape, Ms. Brisby says she is not done yet.
“There are so many more unique things about me that I can include. I mean, I haven’t even had to mention how much I love puppies – or puppers, as only I call them, haha”
